This guitar appears to be very similar to the current "concert" model of La Patrie. I do have a question or two in case someone reading this may know the answers. His bill was very reasonable, the guitar sounds good and it is a pleasure to play. The result is that the instrument is now really nice to play. He adjusted the truss rod a bit and brought the bridge down more than I was prepared to do.
He figured he might be able to do something with the action and suggested I bring it in. Last week I was in a local guitar shop and spoke to the tech. The sides and back are mahogony and the top is very fine grained red cedar (solid). I did reduce the bridge height and make some adjustments to the truss rod but it was always a bit more difficult to play than my other classical.Īt the time I sent an email to La Patrie and was told that the guitar (based upon the serial number) was built in 1994 but they were not able to tell me what model it was and the model was not noted on the decal. As I examined it further I concluded that the neck was at a slight forward angle. I purchased this guitar used about a year ago and realized, after spending some time with it, that the action was quite high.
